The team
EVA was founded in Trento by Luca Girardi, Filippo Rigotti, Davide Saccardo, and Alessandro Bignardi. The four founders met at the Edmund Mach Foundation, where they earned degrees in Viticulture and Enology in 2020.
Luca Girardi
Luca is the project leader. His experience spans nurseries, vineyards, and wineries across Europe, including Piollot Champagne (Côte des Bar, France), Domaine Rostaing (Côte Rôtie, France), and Tenute Lunelli (Trento, Italy). He has worked across diverse production contexts and holds a master’s degree in Sustainable Viticulture and Enology.
Filippo Rigotti
Filippo specializes in analytical work and sensory evaluation, combining strong chemical knowledge with practical cellar experience. He has worked at wineries such as Pravis (Trentino, Italy) and Domaine Rostaing (Côte Rôtie, France), operating across both experimental and large-scale production environments.
Davide Saccardo
Davide is a travelling winemaker with experience in emerging wine regions. He contributed to the early development of Savalan Aspi Winery (Qabala, Azerbaijan) and is currently based in New Zealand. His work is characterized by a meticulous approach and attention to detail.
Alessandro Bignardi
Alessandro is completing a PhD in grapevine physiology, focused on bud regulation. He brings an analytical approach to data management and organization. His research experience includes work at the Irrigated Agriculture Research and Extension Center (Prosser, Washington, USA), contributing to international viticulture projects.
